Okay so it did not even occur to me until I started working on this but HOLY SHIT the Howl’s and Mononoke styles are nothing alike! Hexing a weapon can do different things. It could make the weapon stronger, make its range farther, its aim more precise, the shot deadlier. Basically it’s bad, and Song has just delivered a case of them to an uneducated section of town that does not like infernals.
