Mortasheen - Ampibious

I am completely unable to actually update my site right now, but there's several more monsters coming!

Together with the Suckerpunk I showed last month (and finally decided to go with) Ampibious is an extra, bonus monster, speed-drawn and speed-colored. I dunno how evident the difference is.

It's conceived as a slimy, electrical and ribbon-thin creature.

Soe concept

This was another possible Boo Man, but one I definitely sent back to the drawing board. I still like most things about her but she's not quite there.

Whail concept

Whail is another of the "Boo Men," and was mentioned in Bang's writeup.

He's an opera singer with external lungs!

Not sure if I'll use this sketch or keep working on him. He's a very, very digimon-like design, which is deliberate.

In the bottom right is a farting bellows-duck monster, too. Gonna probably develop that.

Overflow into November!

Since I already would have released extra monsters for October anyway, I'm going to apply "monster madness" to next month, so there'll be at least four colored Mortasheen monsters in November, not counting any of the Boo Men who didn't get done in time, but will also continue coming out for Halloween II!

Secret Mortasheen Preview: STINGG

You might have seen a prototype of this design earlier; the final, color version will come this month, along with a really new and unusual set of other monsters called THE BOO MEN, which is a kind of forgotten real-world colloquialism once interchangeable with "bogeymen."

I actually had the concept of the Boo Men many years before Mortasheen; an elite sect of mercenary/assassin monsters each...

Upcoming Homonculi

Two designs for the next and last main batch of Homunculus Nightmare.

These upcoming six will all be "serious." They do incredibly bad things, and to defeat them, you will have to do spookier and darker stuff than usual, like build a cage out of bones or find a REAL DEAD BODY (okay, taxidermy)

This is a vampiric corn Mortasheen monster - you'd think I'd have done that ten years ago - with a terrible name. A CORNY name, even.

I don't know if I'm satisfied with the design yet, though.

Frankenstoid

One of several speed doodles for an upcoming Halloween article; I'll be reviewing the basic, core Halloween mascots for the first time - plain old witches, draculas and werewolves - and discuss what I like best about them as well as what I'd like to see them emphasize more.

-An Awful Hospital soundtrack: probably 1-2 tunes to start with, more down the road, likely purely instrumental, I have a couple people picked out already.

-Printable minifigures: I'd look into commissioning a really professional, experienced and trustworthy 3d sculptor, probably from the octobertoy...

When the corpse-world was just a rough concept, maggot people or "myiasites" like Maggie were considered for its dominant sentient race,  and were first envisioned as sad, scared little smurf-like creatures, only subtly maggot-like, who lived in fear of a single worm they treated rather like a dragon.

I liked my second Arthropoid sketch this month enough to just make it a fully colored monster. It's a fusion with an ambush bug! It was kind of "speed colored" and I experimented with using the binary pen to ink, so it is a little sloppy.
