Thoughts on the Death of DeviantArt

Hey, everyone, I could use your help.

DeviantArt has been good to me. I found an audience there. If you are reading this now, most likely it’s because you found me there or you found the link to this post there. Now, with the new AI stuff they’re forcing on people, I can imagine that many artists will be abandoning the platform. As a writer, I’m not too concerned about AI copying from my work, but I think this might lead to the death of DA as a place for people looking to find art or publish it.

For a little while now, I’ve been casually searching for a new website/platform that is more focused on writing, but I haven’t found one I felt excited about enough to start publishing there. This change to DA makes me want to take that search more seriously. I don’t plan on jumping ship from DA altogether anytime soon, but I imagine that sometime next year I’ll be settling somewhere else.

That leads me to the big question: Where should I go now?

Please let me know where you think I should start publishing my writing, outside of Patreon. Do you have a favorite place to read fiction similar to what I write? Is there a place you publish your writing that you think might suit me?
