Chapter 265: Elements and Mario Kart

[3rd POV]

Closing her eyes, Gwen began to spread her senses and power as she began to try and connect to the Green to start it off. It didn’t really matter which ones she connected to first, as she was deeply connected with all of them.

It didn’t take her long before she felt it, the connection snapped into place, a glow surrounding her as she felt the nature of the nearby planet. She could feel all her powers and energies related to nature rapidly grow stronger, increasing several times as she breathed out, nature beginning to grow and form around her figure, plants and trees growing from the grounds below, even though it was impossible on a planet like this one.

An impossibility that she made possible thanks to her deep connection with the Green, and its power. A connection that would soon extend to the other elements, as she stayed in her meditative position, and began to repeat this over and over with other elements.

It took her nearly two hours to connect to each of them, as it got harder and harder to connect with them after each prior element she connected to. And with every connection she had, the more her power grew, as each of them began to work to strengthen one another.

By the time she had connected to each of them, she had completed a total of 10 quests, and had obtained another 10 SL tickets, bringing her total to a massive 50. 50 SL tickets that she decided to use before she fought Trigon, so in a couple of days.

After connecting to each of the elements, she decided to return home. As she didn’t really have much more to do for now, besides what she could do with her clones that were already out and about gathering the other objects of power.

She expected to have all of them gathered within the next four days, and once that was done, then she would be able to return to the Marvel multiverse, at least, after taking out Trigon.

For now though, she was going back home, ready to spend some quality time with the family.

Returning back home, Gwen walked through the front door, only to find her girlfriends sitting on the couch, seemingly playing video games with her brother. It was a funny sight, as Dick was getting absolutely crushed by M’gann, who was actually really good at Mario Kart.

“Hey babe! You wanna join us?” M’gann asked, looking back at her as she noticed her presence.

“Sure! But I’ll let you crush my brother first and then join in the next game” Gwen said with a grin, as her brother scowled.

“Yeah yeah, I suck at Mario Kart, I know” Dick said with a pout, causing everyone to giggle at his reaction, which only caused him to pout even deeper at the fact that everyone was so amused with how terrible he was at the game.

He and Korra were both awful.

“So, where were you at, Gwen?” Dick asked, as he tried to overtake Korra who was a place ahead of him in the game.

“On Mars. I was dealing with some elemental forces and communing with some cosmic forces as well” Gwen responded as she conjured a nice cup of coffee into her hands, before sipping on it as her brother looked at her wide eyed, before sighing.

“I can never get over how utterly ridiculous you are” Dick said, not even sure how to react anymore. His sister was insane, that much was obvious. And now that she had returned from that other multiverse, she was even more insane than she used to be, many times more.

She regularly talked about cosmic entities as if they were nothing, made world changing inventions like they were paper weights, and traveled to other dimensions like it was a walk to a local park.

Basically, she was incredible, but yet again, was insane.

“Eh, you’ll get used to it eventually. I’m ridiculous and slightly crazy, but at least it's in a good way” Gwen responded with a shrug, knowing that she wasn’t entirely there in the head, and she certainly wasn’t normal.

“So, you’re leaving in like a week and a half, right?”

”Yep”

”When are you going to come back here? Not another year, I hope” Dick asked, as Gwen hummed.

“Honestly? I was thinking of permanently connecting this universe to the one I currently live in. Because if I do that, then you and dad can travel to and from the two without difficulty, and thanks to the nature of my power, only you’d be able to do so” Gwen responded, as Dick looked at her.

“You could have done that the entire time? Why didn’t you do it sooner?” Dick asked, confused.

“Because Malzif wasn’t entirely safe at that point. With the eater of worlds and other cosmic forces trying to harm it. Hell, it's not even safe now, but it’s good enough that I am okay with the idea of you and dad visiting. Hell, maybe even the team and some of the League if I’m feeling nice” Gwen replied, which Dick could only stay silent upon hearing.

The idea of traveling to another multiverse was incredible, and sounded very alluring, but Dick also understood that it was very dangerous in the universe that Gwen was staying in, and they’d have to be careful, even with the defenses around Malzif.

If a cosmic entity didn’t like the fact that they were there, it could cause some serious problems, problems that not even Gwen could stop in most cases.

“That makes sense. But either way, I am absolutely certain that Bruce will want you to keep that portal up. It’d mean a lot to be able to see you whenever we want, and would let you travel back and forth too. That’s a good thing, right?” Dick asked, as Gwen hummed, understanding his point.

‘…I suppose that is true. I knew that having it open could allow me to gather materials and absorb entities from both, but I was also hesitant in regards to the reactions of the cosmic entities of both multiverses, especially the Living Tribunal and Spectre. Hell, I’m not even sure how the big guy would react to that sort of thing’ Gwen thought, knowing that the supreme entity of the multiverses was likely the same being, or at least connected.

And she had no clue if it would be pissed off with her if she did decide to connect the two, even if only a little bit with a portal between them, one that only her and those she allows would be able to travel through.

“Yes…I suppose it is. I’d need to make sure that the cosmic entities of each multiverse wouldn’t be pissed off with me. But if they are okay with it, then I don’t see why not” Gwen responded, deciding that perhaps she’d need to speak with some of those entities.

Perhaps it was time for her to meet Lucifer Morningstar of the DC multiverse, and the Phoenix Force of the Marvel multiverse. Two beings that had enough knowledge and say in things to tell her if it would be okay or not, and both of them were in places she knew of, one of which was literally sitting right next to her.

While the other was in the “City of Angels” aka Los Angeles of Earth 666.

“Great! I’ll make sure to tell Bruce when he gets back, but for now, I want to crush you in some Mario Kart!” Dick said with a grin as the race finished, and Gwen was handed her own controller to play with.

As the game began, and Gwen almost instantly shot to first place, she had only one thought on her mind.

‘…Seems it’s time to gather the last few objects…’

Next chapter will be a bit more object gathering for a few hundred words, and then Trigon.

Daughter of God will be getting updated later into the day, but I’m about to take a nap and then play some Borderlands 4 when I wake up. So it’ll likely come late tonight (PST).

Not sure if there’ll be a vault chapter today.
