On the docket this week we have: Banishers: Ghosts of new Eden, Tomb Raider 1, Lords of Exile and more Helldivers 2. I'm waiting to hear back from Hoeg about what games he'd like to talk about so I'll update the post when I know more.

Hello, Brad and crew. How do you think the massive success of Helldivers 2 will impact upcoming Sony GaaS titles such as Concord? Can we expect these games to have a similar price point and monetization structure? Is it wise to launch more than one live-service in the same year, given that their audiences will have some overlap? Do you see Sony tightening their relationship with Arrowhead and giving them more power over their GaaS initiative? What does that mean for Bungie? Keep up the awesome work you've been doing on SuS.

I feel like that is Sony stumbling into the success of HellDivers 2 right now! 400k concurrent on steam as I write this! How long do you gents think it will take Sony to lock them down? They REALLY didnāt think this game would hit like this? REALLY? Itās Sunday at 4:30 pm and I havenāt been able to load in to Helldivers 2. Yesterday I could but couldnāt find matches with others. You shouldnāt need a couple 100 million dollars worth of KPIs to tell you what a 10 hour a week game player could have told you for free. This game was always going to hit and guess what it did and you canāt fucking play it. I donāt even need to mention the last ~5 years of abysmal live service releases but I will for the sake of the āsort it outā argument. This game is a product of those past 5 years. You can see it everywhere in the design. Take one look at steam and see that like 12 of the top 20 most played games reside in the $30-$40 msrp range. Helldivers 2 doesnāt fit in there huh? Couple that with the desert biome that is February unless you enjoy jrpgs. Yeah, Steam isnāt your target demo at all. I donāt expect this game to die off from these issues but I highly suspect a lot of people arenāt going to put up with this shit much longer and thus just not play the game. Hope it gets fixed while weāre young. This is my GotY right now for sure when it works.

All Games as a Service come out swinging in that first month but 30 days + seems to be the lithmus test. I can see new mob variants and stuff to keep people busy but cosmetics only go so far. (for me) Just curious on what you think since this is Sony's first GAAS.

Colin- why do you always correct Dustin when he misuses fewer/less but never when he says āThis happened to Brad and Iā when he should be saying āthis happened to Brad and me.ā? And Hoeg- If a lawyer uses incorrect grammar, is a jury less likely to believe they know what they are talking about? Incidentally, Iād love to hear any jury duty stories any of you have. Thank you!
