The boyfriend really was a good guy, and the wife left him to go back to her pathologically lying, cheating ex who constant flakes out on their son. Usually thereโs some contrivance about how the competing love interest is really a secretly a terrible person. But they didnโt even bother to justify why this guy who had been nothing but good to his girlfriend and her kid, got screwed over!
