I appreciated the backstory on the relationship between Gamers.com / Ziff Davis / 1Up. I don't think I ever understood that back in the day. I definitely share Alex's experience of wanting to be a greater part of that cadre of game journos who were a little older than us and seemed like the coolest folks around, but in the end being grateful I went down a different professional path. (Although I was already getting a little burned out by the early/mid-00s since I had personally been doing GIA stuff since the beginning of high school...) Thanks for sharing your experiences (and for the shoutout)--it's fun to wax nostalgic sometimes.
