I feel so bad for the Ryans, especially Nicole! Poor Matt already recovering from his surgery. Great idea with helping w V-tines stuff for the kiddos. On the other topic today, about idiotic husband pregnancy stories: I was induced with my first since she was past due, going in 7pm the night before. NO FOOD OR DRINK for me from then on. Only ice chips and mints sparingly. Dear hubby đ drops me off, goes home and sleeps in. Does not come in until noon, with Mighty Tacos for himself!!! I said wtf do you think youâre doing? He replies, I figured you wanted me here as soon as possible. I said, you could have effing eaten first instead of coming in and taunting me with your food! Dummy!!!

My mother-in-law was just in the hospital for a week, and I brought her a nice cozy furry throw; she said it helped her more than anything else! That hospital bedding is terrible. She also really appreciated hand lotion/chapstick/headband...things to make her feel a bit like herself again. Praying for Nicole!

2023-02-07 17:36:27 +0000 UTCHGH! Listening to Tay and Dr. Wider this morning and I have a few suggestions to pass on for Nicole and Ryan - wifi picture frame that you can invite people to load pictures onto. The rooms are crowded and donât have a lot of space for pictures, but a wifi frame is easy and compact - a comfort blanket, pillow, socks, shirt, hat, etc. something from home that she loves or would help her be comfortable. Neck/travel pillows were always a hit with our patients -just sitting with her and being present. Sheâll be sleeping and thatâs ok. Just sitting in silence in the room can provide a calming presence. - something for the nurses, physical therapists, and patient care techs etc. who are doing a lot of the heavy work. Prepackaged treats (protein bars, snacks, etc), coffee/bagels, drinks (Gatorade, or electrolyte packets to add to water). The bedside staff donât get nearly enough breaks and quick snacks and drinks to eat on the go are great Also, when I went through losses I did not want to tell people what I needed. The better thing for me was people saying, âHey, Iâm bringing you dinner/Iâm taking the kids to the park/Iâm going to fold your laundry/clean your kitchen/take the trash out.â I didnât know what I needed, but just doing some of the basic daily tasks that she/Ryan canât do right now could be a HUGE help.

Spending time taking them to their activities, games or movies at home if they have been shuffled around a lot, or they might need a change of scenery could help, it all depends on what their schedules have looked like the last few days. But even if you canât get there⊠sending everyday items like groceries would help. While Iâm writing this it came to me! This is Valentines time for kids. Offer to get all the crap they need for school, valentines, party food, shirts, treats for them Matt can save for the 14th. Thatâs all a pain and stuff Momâs tend to do and might get overlooked at this time.

2023-02-07 14:28:48 +0000 UTCSo sorry to hear about Nicole. If sheâs not able to eat any food, maybe you can get her a really nice cozy blanket robe or slippers something that she can use while sheâs in the hospital or even a nice pair of pajamas since it seems like sheâs going to be there for a couple weeks. â€ïž
